Our Story
Kamilah means perfect, complete, without flaw.
It's a beautiful name, but an unexpected one for a story that starts with feeling completely broken.
Ten years of growth, gone in minutes.
I took pride in my long, healthy hair. Then a stylist cut it from my waist to my shoulders, without my consent. I stopped wearing my hair down. I felt empty, exposed, and unlike myself, and no one could tell me how long it would take to feel like me again.
Losing my hair taught me just how much of my identity was rooted in it.
Hair is one of our best accessories and a powerful form of self-expression. When I lost mine, I had a hard time looking in the mirror and being content with what I saw. I needed to fix that.
Nothing was made for me.
I went looking for help and hit wall after wall. I live with seborrheic dermatitis, so the oils everyone swore by only made my scalp worse. Everything else was a drug or simply didn't work.
So I went into the lab.
I'm a haircare chemist, and I believe the best solutions come from plants and science working together. I researched the bioactive compounds in an entire apothecary of plants, then tested blend after blend until I found the one that worked: a synergistic formula of seven bioactive extracts in a lightweight, water-based serum that absorbs into the scalp instead of sitting on top of it.
Slowly, my hair started to look like mine again. And so did I.
Why "Already."
Somewhere in that journey, I realized what I was chasing wasn't a hairstyle. It was the feeling of being whole again.
